The Lula Kebab is an elongated uncased sausage-shaped patties from ground lamb with tail fat, onion and spices, grilled on a skewer.
In Armenian traditional cuisine, the Kebab denotes a wide variety of different grilled ground meat dishes, generally made of lamb (usually from lambs tenderloin, back and pulp from the leg), but there are also versions with beef or veal, fish, crayfish and chicken.
The Lula Kebab is a very popular restaurant dish in Armenia – these patties with an alluring aroma, are served on fresh Lavash bread with lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers and onions, on a pillow of rice, or with French fries. It can be served with plum Tkemali sauce, hot ketchup or basil sauce.
